Reading was not something I enjoyed as a kid. But I always knew it was important. Professional reading was just as unenjoyable in adulthood.

We were given required reading as a school. And not only was it not fun, it never went anywhere.

Then, I joined a book club with friends, and I realized having people to discuss books with was fun. Having a bit of a deadline worked for.

Being an almost exclusive open-ended play-based educator, play was fun and felt natural. I mean, it is isn't it?

But I quickly discovered there was another level to play-based teaching and I needed to dive deep and learn more. Then I feel in love with reading to grow. When I found my topic and I found my people, I couldn't be held back.

I learned so much about myself, my practice, and and now the person people as for recommendations for. I am the play expert in my school that everyone looks too. I can talk the talk and walk the walk. The best part?? There is still SO MUCH MORE TO LEARN!
